How We Met...

• In the doorway of a dorm at a summer camp back in 1993....
• But we should have actually met many many years earlier -- the meaning of soul mates....

Our Engagement...

(NOTE: The following piece is being published by Diana AGAINST Woo Shik's wishes.  He says, he can't afford to disclose his softy side to the entire world.)

Our engagement was announced on July 15, 2001.

While I was on call for thirty-six hours straight, Woo Shik flew into Pittsburgh without I knowing it. He stayed in a hotel until he could sneak into my apartment with the help of one of my co-workers (Nancy) to set up a computer/light/music display.

He had a large neon clock which displayed our names custom-designed in NY and sent to Pittsburgh.  He had also constructed a screensaver presentation that consisted of both old and recent pictures of us. The last picture on the screensaver asked the infamous question. This whole presentation, of course, was set to music.  He also propped a small panda bear with a trinket box containing the (very expensive, I know now) ring on top of the computer.

He then apparently waited for me to return home.

However, I was stuck in the OR until 10 pm that night!! And because Woo Shik had an early meeting in the morning in Minneapolis the next day, he had to leave before he could ask me officially in person. 

When I got home later that night I thought somebody had broken into my apartment because of the music and flashing neon lights. I, of course, soon realized what was happening and broke down into tears of happiness (and relief that I had finished my long day at work). I called him up to give my response and here we are....  The rest is history....

Our wedding date is set for August 3, 2002. It will take place at Kepuhi Beach in Kauai, HI. Our reception will be held at Kepuhi Beach. After our one-month-long honeymoon in Thailand, Hong Kong, and Korea, we will make our home in Northern California.
